How to clean burn marks off of patio pavers?

a log from the fire was leaning on one of the pavers for my fire pit for a little while and it burned it up pretty good. wondering if there is a way to clean it off. already tried scrubbing with water and sand and a wire brush. worked a little bit but not quit good enough.
