How do I deal with my father?

I will be getting married next May and everyone else keeps telling me, to just tough it out. My dad however, is making that hard to do. I no longer want to live in his home or near him. I have a west highland white terrier and due to a knee injury I physically can't walk to the kennel to get him everyday, so he thinks that it should be shot, since my mom cares for it now. When I can get up there, I always do, but he doens't believe that. He says mean and hurtful things to me; From tenuisancethat I am a nousiance to saying that if he could go back in time, to when I was first born he would have left me in a dumpster. How do I handle this man? He doesn't even feel like a father. He literally does nothing but watch TV and occasionally sit on our patio. What do I do? Can someone in this same situation give me some advice? He is great with my three older brothers and two nephews. It's like he just singles me out. Someone please, I just need advice.
